SYNOPSIS
Pete Brennan (Jamie Kennedy) is a middle-aged “Road Comic” who’s spent half his life in front of an audience; travelling down every highway, performing all over the world and quickchanging in one too many grimy gas station bathrooms. He’s far more funny than famous, yet in the world of stand-up comedy, he’s among the most knowledgeable. He truly has seen it all. Or so he thought.
One night at his home comedy club, Pete is watching a handful of local open mic comics when one catches his eye. This “young” comedian is Ethan Barr (Matt Rife), aka: Ethan Bartholomew IV. On the surface he’s a 27-year-old, unconventionally handsome millennial. Yet there’s more than meets the eye. He too, has seen it all, but for completely different reasons.
When they meet, Ethan is full of respect and awe of Pete's craft, while Pete is drawn to Ethan’s mysterious aura. One night at a party, Ethan proposes to join Pete on the road. As he comes from money, he can pay all expenses in exchange for on-the-job comedy training. On the road, this affluent man is introduced to the standard comedy life; cheap motels, wacky morning DJ's, diners & dive bars. His growth as a comedian is noticeable as he attempts to bridge the gap between being real and exploiting his vampirism.
